I use Marine Snow and a weekly schedule of various supplememts and minerals like iodide, strontium, calcium, magnesium, iodine, and a few others. I dose according to the instructions, but mainly by just eye balling everything and judging how happy everything looks.

Do you turn off return , and just let it sit for few min. Before turning things back on.

People do it differently.
I shut my return pump off for 1 hour so the food has a good chance to be consumed before going down the overflow.
I have 4 Koralia powerheads, 2 of which are agitating the surface so I don't worry about aeration issues if my retun pump ever goes down.

I should mention I use filter socks so that's big part of why I shut it off. If i didnt use them for I might not shut the return pump off while feeding small particle food.

I feed BRS reef chili and just follow the instructions they call for a feeding once every other day. I never target feed since I never found the need too.
Depending on your return pump turning it on and off can shorten the life of the impeller especially if it's an AC pump. The initial power up inrush is what breaks them down over time. That's why some choose not to turn it off. I use a Mag Drive 12 and the impeller is only $25 dollars online and I keep spare one on hand for when it breaks. I get about 2 years on average out of the impellers. I turn it on and off as much as I want and don't worry about it:)

Feeding in my case is several times a day flakes for the fishies and once a day 3 cubes of the frozen stuff you can buy in LFS's.
That keeps the meatlovers mostly away from my Zoas and Softies.

For the corals, I feed a mix of Coral Frenzy (Powder) with a few drops of Selcon and every second day either a teaspoon of Phytoplankton or Reefroids mixed in the Frenzy.
Then sometimes I feed a second time a day a bit of Reef Roids only.
I take some tankwater and mix it in the cup and pour it in the tank so that my Sun coral gets a good portion of that stuff.

I use the Phytoplankton to add Po4 to my tank, but need to be careful not to overdose which recently happened, causing a short bloom of spirulina and diatoms, but that was almost gone a week later.
Severely underestimated the amount of Po4 in that stuff, which I believe happened to D2Mini as well recently, lol.

I do not turn off pumps, since I still run mostly sockless, however, if I feed to much different fine foods, then the corals slime like hell and the ORP drops significantly.
To avoid that, I feed a bit less but daily.
