Covering my powerheads? (1 Viewer)

"Boz" my bi color blenny has decided that he likes backing into one of my powerheads when it is not on...have them on 15 minutes timers....I am worried about him being in there when the powerhead comes back on...I know I also need to cover my intake should I ever get an anemone (or that is what I heard from Mikester Can I get some suggestions on how to do that or with what? Thanks so much!!

yes, you really do need to cover intakes. wherever they sell powerheads, they'll probably have some spongy filter material that simply slips over the intake. you can secure it with a plastic pull tie if you need to secure it snugly. some pumps come with them, i think. i've seen them come with pumps for large ponds. don't know whether powerheads have them included, but i'm sure you can buy them. if you have a thin sheet of filter floss, that'll do. just wrap it around the intake and secure w/ a pull tie. i'd look for the stuff you can buy tho.

I've heard of people on reefcental who had blenny's that liked to surf when the powerheads came back on, they'd go in the outtake when it was shut off and ride the wave out when it came back on

Now that sounds like Boz....I'm afraid he'll catch the wrong wave and get thrown right into the front glass...:-(
