Just want to share this info with you. I work at Houston Community College in the Medical Center and it's the Health Science campus and our Dental Hygiene department is open to the public so if you don't have insurance or even if you do this might be cheaper anyway the only thing it's done by our current students. The fee is a one time payment once they check you and make a decision and for example tell you that you need to come back for maybe 6 sessions you don't need to pay anymore it's a one time fee.

Here is the info that we have posted:

"The HCC Dental Hygiene Clinic is now accepting patients. For $20 for adults and $5 for kids, they offer X-Rays, teeth cleaning, and comprehensive oral exam. To make an appointment, call 713.718.7292 on Mondays and Wednesdays, or visit them at the clinic in room 562. You don't have to be a student to sign up, so invite your friends and family"

If you need some more info just let me know and I will try and get the answers for you.

Excellent! My POS dental plan does not cover cleanings beyond a "basic routine cleaning", meaning I have to pay $159 for a full mouth cleaning. I hate insurance, and I work for an insurance company!

Thanks for the info, Karlo!

Humm... Do they do things like crowns or perhaps even dentures? My pops has really bad teeth. I personally think he need them all yanked and get some other type of teeth.

They don't do that especially not for $20 but I think if he goes they might give him some advice on what he can do, you know people listen more to strangers than the people closest to them :)

Do they pull wisdom teeth? I have two that need to come out but lost my insurance last year! I really need to have them out!

You can tie them to a lambo (jackass 3 anyone?)

Just to make it clear, this is a Dental Hygiene clinic not a Dentist office:

http://www.dentalhygienists.com/what-does-a-dental-hygienist-do.html

"During a dental appointment, a hygienist typically removes soft and hard deposits from a patient's teeth; examines the gums and teeth to discern the presence of disease or oral abnormality; and strips the teeth of calculus (tartar), stains and plaque. A dental hygienist often performs as well root planing (a type of periodontal therapy), takes x-rays and applies cavity-deterring agents (fluoride or sealants)."
