I was planning to buy some from BRS but decided to make my own. I know how to make the Alkalinity part but where can I buy some Calcium Chloride for the Calcium part? Pool Supply Store?

But I have no idea about the purity levels and any contaminants.

Thanks man.
Actually there was a study done years ago and this stuff is very similar to what you find at pet stores. I will try to find the link and post it here.

Thanks guys. Decided to go with the BRS product since I don't have much time.

I sold my calcium reactor and till I get the dosing pumps I'm dosing manually, man that's a lot of work. :D

My 2-Part order comes in today.

Mr. Manual for me for a while as well. So we'll both be eyeing the "for sale" areas. :)

I run the dosing pumps from APT instruments in a custom enclosure. $65 a piece. You can pick AC or DC and configure your dosing speed based on motor rpm and tubing size.

My doser married me about 14 years ago.

I'm having a hard time programming her, though. Seems like it mostly works the other way around.

Someday I'll join you toy freaks but for now it is manual.

I bought the BRS dosers and hooked them up when I installed my Apex. 1 for Cal. and 1 for Alk. They are very easy to set up and the mounting hardware they come with is really nice. You mount the bracket on something and the doser slides onto it. Makes it easy to lift the doser off to clean/service. They dose at 1.1 ml minute so programming with the Apex is easy also.
