I'm going to try DIY LED again, but this time go beyond the 50/50 RB/CW setup I did before. This will be going over my DSA Neo Nano(link in sig). The tank is 24"x24"x13" tall. My lighting shroud/canopy will make the pendant hang at between 13-14" over the water surface.
I found an 8.46" heatsink at heatsinkusa with the t-slots like the makersink, but I got it square. Thinking about using the following:
(8x) Cree 3-UPS (RB,RB,NW)
(4x) Ocean Coral White (Red,Blue,Cyan)
(8x) Hyper Violet
(4x) True Violet
(4x) Cool Blue
Should this do the job? I will be separating the LEDs into different color channels controlled by my custom LED controller. Probably using the meanwell LDD drivers. Hoping to not have any "disco" effect or any spotlighting. I would like to have a nice smooth look similar to my 250w MH pendant with a 14k or 20k bulb. I mainly want to get away from the heat and large ballast.
