Well the lights arrived. yay! This wiring is going to be a piece of cake! I think I am going to be tight pressed to get all 8 bulbs to fit the width though. hmmm Not sure it will happen. Time to brain storm...

If they are to be installed inside a canopy, nobody said you had to have all 8 bulbs flat & lined up.

Some bulbs can be mounted to vertical walls of the canopy thus giving corals at awkward angles more light.

I'll see if I can't find a picture that demonstrates what I mean.

Also how close do you think these should be to the water?

Sounds like a great project please keep us updated with new pics as well as overall build costs, I can't wait to see how this turns out for you as my lights are costing me a fortune as well and it would be nice to have some other options

Hey guys,

Sorry for the lag in updates. Aquarium Specialty back ordered my bulbs after saying they were in. I got the kits but no bulbs. Finally yesterday the bulbs arrived! Also I started on some brain storming ideas I had about mounting the bulbs in a curved way. Never found pics but I think I have made designed a solution!!
