I have heard that one of these stores will cut glass for you. Does anyone know if this is true?

Well I was at Lowes yesterday and bought some acrylic and they had a station right next to it for what looked to me to be cutting glass.

I have no personal experience, but from what I have read they wont clean up the cuts...meaning no sanding of cut edges and therefor you have to be much more careful of handling as the edges will be very sharp.

Honestly, as incompetent as most of the HD\Lowes kids appear to be, I'm not real sure I would want them cutting anything that needs to have close tolerances.

It may cost a little more, but I would rather a real glass company do the cutting...it is something they deal with on daily basis, and one would hope that would mean better quality of workmanship.

Home Depot does not cut glass.

Lowes does, but only if you purchase the glass from them. I tried to take in a piece of my own glass and they wouldnt touch it.

Im speaking from experience with the Lowes/HD's in my area.

Yeah, I tried Lowe's and they really don't cut anything that is thick at all, plust you have to buy it from them.

It's not hard. All they will do is score it with a tool, brace it with a clamp across the whole section and then snap it.

What thickness?
