Came home from work to these! These are from my True Percs, the male is guarding those things quite well but I'm not sure how he'll fair once the lights go out and the shrimp come out of hiding, how long will they incubate for?

Awww........sweet.

Don't be discouraged if the male doesn't do the job right the first few times out......although it sounds like he's doing well so far. You should expect a new batch on a regular basis now. Incubation period is about eight days.

Well it's morning and they're still there, so he must be doing a pretty good job. I move back home for the holidays in a little under a week, just in time to move whatever eggs are left to a 5.5 gallon tank.

You have two options for raising the eggs if your going to try:
1) Let daddy tend to the eggs and catch them after they hatch.
2) Move the eggs (Take out the entire rock they are on dont try to scrape them off) and put them in a small tank on the night of the hatch. Keep the eggs moving with an air pump directly under the eggs.

IMO youd be better off this time around catching the babies, so you can verify if you have a 7,8,9 day hatch time. Once you know it will always be a consitant time to hatch.

Do you have rotifers?

Just FYI, if you move them into a different tank it may be a while before they lay eggs again. (could be weeks, could be months)
