Do you really think there is a corelation between the Elegance and the Clam? Are you not able to put pictures in because of the size or does it actually tell you not permitted?

no co relation.. I am hoping someone would know what to do to get my clam to open up again before it croaks. Well I was able to put up pictures before same ones, and now I can't. I have some ideas why I can't anymore, but I would just be guessing eh?

Sure, 8 months later isnt too long to chime in :) Im curious though, hows the elegance Quoc?

It's still doing great, has grown for about an inch or two - not great growth but at least not dead:) I guess i'm lucky with this one. It was eating well since day 1 and I still feed it some small chuncks of shrimps once a week.

I feed mine nothing I just put some stuff in the water now and then. Nothing like putting small chunks of shrimp close to its mouth ... they are filter feeders right.

They feed a number of different ways, but will accept meaty foods like small pieces of shrimp, mysis, fish, clam etc

ok cool thanks for the info I am trying to improve my water quality which includes less food floating around in the water. I have cut down on my fish feeding. I only feed my fish once every few days now.

My elegance get's a small chunk of silverside everytime I feed my nems. Othere than that it catches mysis from my fish feeding. It started splitting mouths once I started sharing the silverside though.

I never feed mine directly, just the fish. It is at least 18 years old now and still going strong. I got it as a frag from a friend 13 years ago. I have fragged it several times and sold it here as well. It is still as big as a basketball. If you have a good one it will do well almost no matter what your water quality is, if you get a bad one you might as well be giving the fish store your $80 to play the lottery.

Not that I have any personal experience with Ekegans, but, Markus is not lying about his Elegans. It is huge and gorgeous. If I was going to get a frag it would def be from him or one of the frags he sold in the past.

Here are some pictures of our Indo Elegance Coral the mother colony and its offspring which is doing well. We bought it right after Hurricane Rita came through. We currently have a Percula Clown hosting in the mother colony.

mine was put on marsh and ended up on the internet as well. But now all gone. It was under sarnia reef gallery. These days I just come and go and do basicly nothing for the coral reef. I do give a light feeding every few days. I did do a 30% water change 2.5 weeks ago and will do a 10% next week sometime. winter wonderlanddd

Fishcraze - I know it's almost 2 years later, but wondering how is the elegance doing? I just got one the other day. Wasn't sure what happy or unhappy looks like. Can you repost any pictures of what it looked like when it was looking bad?
