I followed the thread on RC for awhile, and even donated a bit of money.
There hasn't been an update in quite awhile and many folks are starting to grumble towards the end of the thread due to no responses or updates from Eric in several months.

They're one of my favorites as well, but I haven't tried one because I'd heard that they were difficult to keep alive. I'm glad that Eric's doing the study, because evidently they used to be hardier.
