Sure, they are the original that ASM copied. They are made of acrylic while ASM is PVC. Otherwise they are very similar, capable skimmers but go a size or so bigger than the rating for either.

I have one and happy w/it. It's alot better built then the ASM. The only draw back is the impellar is expensive to replace.

Ive got one on my 90 and its great , produces some really thick gunky goo. The collection cup comes of with just a 1/4 turn. And once I set the air intake I dont have to fool with it much at all. The stick epoxy that I glue f rags down with makes it go crazy though so when I do that I just turn the air off for a little while. Overall I am very pleased withthe skimmer.

I'm looking at their new vs series due to come out in september. most likely won't be able to get it though, as i will be needing a new skimmer soon, for my new setup.

if it's the skimmer you really want then you should wait. Skimmers is an expensive item, so take time to research and find the right one. No need to hurry, you tank is not going to crash b/c u don't have a skimmer. Your tank is new and bio load is low so shouldn't be a problem to run a tank w/o a skimmer for several months. You can make it up with doing a little more frequent water change (weekly or biweekly).
