We are feeding our "softies" Microvert every three days. We randomly put about 20 drops in the tank, and then feed directly with an eye dropper to each coral. Our questions are
1. Is microvert the best food for them
2. Are we feeding frequently enough
3. Are we feeding an adaquate amount... BTW the tank is 55 gal.
4. We leave the pumps off for 15-20 min as we feed our Anemone at the same time. Is this enough time for them. I don't want the skimmer to get the food before the coral.

On a different note, we usually put six drops of garlic extreme in the tank every other day. And have heard that Vitamin C is good for the fish.. any suggestions in this area?
Thanks,
Robby

Most soft corals dont really need to be fed. They can easily sustain themselves from the light you are suppling them. Some of my larger zoanthids will even catch food out of the water when I feed my fish. If you do decide to feed them, once to twice a week should be more than sufficient.

For garlic extreem and similar products, I soak all my food in this product prior to feeding so the fish will ingest it.

+1

The only two corals from your tank that would benefit from direct feeding would be your candy cane and frogspawn, best time to feed is when their sweepers are extended. Do it once a week or else you might run the risk on too much nutrients in your water column. Love the picture on 5/21/09
