They have been in Katy about a week now. Love watching these little ones!

For the month of August I only had one or two at a time, but now they're swarmin'. I LOVE hummer migration in the fall. :D

I need to get more feeders. Last year my neighbor's cat kept knocking them down to get to the birds (unsuccessfully, I might add), but every time he'd knock one down, a piece broke off. I now have a bucket full of parts that won't fit together. :x

And by the same token, if YOU find any real cheap, let me know. :) I'm always on the lookout......those darn things get expensive.

Walmart!

No mark downs yet!
4.84 a pretty decent all plastic 10 station with seating all around!
No flowers just holes.

I like no flowers, too hard to clean around!
I like sitting rings, causes less aggression!

got 2 !

Here's my first!
I just went out a saw a huge hummingbird! HUGE!

After closer inspection it is a butterfly! I have a large butterfly that has learned how to use the feeder! Go figure! Smart thing!

Yesterday I had some house finches that were trying to feed from the hummer feeders. They couldn't get their seed-eating beaks into the holes, of course, but they were sure trying.

Yesterday I finally came home to an empty feeder that was full the day before. My husband couldn't believe it until he saw about 4 hanging out by the feeder. I switched one of the full ones to it's spot and when we got up this morning (7am) and went to the kitchen, there was about 12-14 hummers fighting over the same feeder. I had to move another right by it so they would cut back on the bickering. Funny thing is that there is a third feeder in the front that only gets visited by one or two birds. In our backyard on the porch, we have this huge branch about 5 feet from the feeder. We hadn't moved the branch, but since the hummingbirds have been use it as a perch, we don't want to move it until their migration goes away.

I assume the main migration has started.
I need to get a few more feeders.

What are the main species you all see? I am trying to figure out which kind are mine.
