Got my RO/DI from Filter Direct today. Took 10 days which was reasonable but there were a couple of problems. An elbow joint and a T joint were busted and the metal frame was bent with the paint peeling off. They are going to ship off new joints so no big deal there. The thing that bothered me was that it appears this is a common problem according to them and when it was suggested that if they had better packing it would solve the issue they seemed unconcerned. The only thing they said was that we could return it for a new one if I didn't want to live with the bent frame. I don't want to have to return it and wait for a new one so they are going to send the joints for now. :-x

Fill up your tank then return everything but the plumbing and the carts. I am sure they would be happy to do it for you. I have heard nothing but good things from them off of ebay. Cheap RO/DI units I am planning on getting one from them myself. Hope everything goes well. Here is a link to what they are selling on ebay for all those interested and they are half the price of air water ice.

Edited to say: I'm not a shill for these guys, I simply am offering an alternative to crappy customer service, which sounds like what KarenHorn got from Filter Direct. I know several people, including more than one on this board, who have purchased systems from Air, Water & Ice and they come highly recommended.

If price is your end-all, by all means go with E-Bay. Like I said before, you may be getting what you pay for. Good luck.
