Bonaire had been mentioned by several people on this site, and it sounds great, but all of the flights that I can find have at least 2 stops, with a minimum travel time of 11 hours. What are other good destinations for a first/beginning diver that are not so difficult to get to?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thresa

I'm sure many will disagree but for a beginner I would suggest a trip to the FL Keys. Cheap flights into Miami, some really good reputable dive shops and english as a first language (once you are out of Miami). It's not real exotic but for a beginner it's well worth the trip.

you can get a descent flight to Bonaire on air Jamaica. I know it did not take me 11 hours the last time I went down there.

I recommend going to Belize. The country is beautiful and the diving is great and easy........ It is very easy to get to with a direct flight

Have fun

Great diving, easy diving, very short boat trips, shore diving from most of the resorts, direct flights from IAH, everything is huge there, most resorts are all inclusive.
