Mine vanished also, after about 6 months in my tank.
Wondering if my black brittle star got him.
I've had 3 fish vanish in the last couple months.
1 Bangaii, 1 Rabbitfish, and my flame.
All without a trace.

Hey Darrin,

I have had one in my 125 for 2 years with no problems. I also have a Koran and a Coral Beauty with no problems of fighting or picking on any corals. Before this I had another flame angel in a 55 with no problems. Flames are a great choice from what I have experienced.

I have also had a few different varieties of angel (koran, flame, bi color, and coral beauty). The fish never made a real noticable impact on the corals by picking on them but they still did. I know I have sat on numerous occasions and just watch the angel bite at the corals. I have seen my koran pick on zoanthids, leathers, and kenyan tree. I did notice that if I kept all the fish "fat and sassy" with food that they didn't pick on things as much. I do believe that it is their instinct to "graze" on the liverock and pick at the food available.

I had a flame angel that picked on a brain coral so much it caused it to no longer open at all. It was the only coral it picked on.

I catch my coral beauty picking on my coral every now and then. It just means it feading time. It also picked on my carpenter wrasse until it starved to death.
