Tired of algea (caused by phosphates in the water I used till my RO stuff came in). I am looking at setting up a fuge for my 29G. I would need a U tube (300g?) and a tank (10g or 20g?). What do some of you with 29G have? I am thinking of maybe putting a SCWD in like Melev had on his 29G. I am worried the flow in a 10G fuge might be too high.

Thanks

I have a 29G w/10G fuge. I run a ViaAqua 2600 as my return pump thru a single unswitched return pipe. I have it set to blow beneath the LR to help keep the hard to get to sand stired a bit. I have not noticed the return being overpowering. I have 2 tubes in my overflow, much better in case one becomes partially or fully blocked. If you use a SCWD just follow a good cleaning routine so that it does not become clogged.

Our 29 gal has a TectraTec modfied, which is a hang on the back filter, converted to a fast flow refug. It has 3 outlets to shoot back into the water, and holds about 1.3 to 1.8 gal of water.

We have seen others use AquaClear 500 modefied, which also holds about 1 gal.

These were for people that were trying to stay at the 30 gal mark to still be considered "nano".
