I don't think you can catch Peps in Galveston this year. The Galveston peps were flooding the local fish stores by May of last year.

I have a theory that it has to due with the fact we haven't had much of a El Nino/La Nina effect. May be some weather buff can fill us in on if water temps or if something is different this year versus the last two. What ever it is peps are only being caught further south of us this year.

wonder if the Galveston or Corpus Christi perpermint shrimps would it aiptasia? I heard someone said that the peppermint shrimps in Galveston are in fact camel shrimps (very similar to ppm shrimps) which will eat turbo snails, but wont touch the aips. The Galveston shrimps has a duller color, while the true peppermint shrimps (imported from Carribean???) have brighter color (red) and eat aips... Is this true?????

I put quite a few in my tank today, if my lionfish doesn't eat them all I'll tell you if my turbo snail pop, goes down or my aips. I have always thought that they were peppermint shrimp.
Best place are the jetties along sea wall, at about 12am using a dip net.

I've got the peps from the Galveston seawall and let me tell you, they DESTROY aips. They never touched anything else. Even got the big huge nasty ones. 4 of them cleaned out a tank in like 2 days. In retrospect, I would have only got 1 and given him a while to do it. Tank was a 135.

Michael-
Do you live down here in Galveston?
