Hey, I am looking to purchase some fins, mask, and snorkel for a trip through Yucatan and Belize in a few days. Does anyone have any suggestions about quality gear? Mainly I am looking for a good mask but, I have no idea which one to get as the sites are flooded with different kinds.
Thanks

the best way to really gauge equipment is to get into a shop and try stuff on. put the mask on and see it if it sticks to your face when you suck in with your nose. then, select a nice fitting pair of scuba booties, then try on a good set of open heal fins. i like the open heel fins more because you can use the scuba booties with them, which comes in handy because you don't have to walk barefoot on an open shoreline.

don't focus too much on brand names. just get what fits your body and your budget. a local scuba shop should be able to tell you which brands are more popular and which ones are of higher quality.
