My large Green Carpet Anemone, which was contently planted under a halide for 4 months, disappeared. I looked everywhere, and found it on the bottom of the tank behind all the rocks getting no light. I moved some of the rocks on top so some light will get to it. Is this normal anemone behavior? . Will it crawl out on its own or should I dismantle my tank and try to relocate it? What to do? The resident clown feeds it regularly with my homemade seafood recipe, and maybe its sick of the food, don't know. Thanks in advance for any advise.

The anemone will keep moving until it finds a spot that it likes better for various reasons. I doubt the lighting is too strong? Then again how deep is your tank?? If the flow is better in the back of the tank then it will move to where it is getting optimal flow to remove waste and feed. Don't try moving it on your own or you could risk injuring it. Try adjusting the flow.

Mine has acted in the same behavior. As Kim said. They will move around until they find a spot they like.

The only reason for moving it yourself would be when it gets trapped by your current flows and gets stuck in a location say, behind all the rocks in the back of you tank.

I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find my anemone extending towards the light. Over half of it is exposed now. I was even more pleased to see frags behind the rocks, which were not vissible before. I saw three, 2-3 inch pieces of tree coral and a small purple mushroom, which seemed to grow overnight, since the light can get to them now :D
