Thats a bizarre de-cocker. I would imagine the gun was designed primarily to carry cocked and locked like a 1911. I have a walther PPKS 380 and it de-cocks by engaging the safety like my sigs which I don't mind since it's DA/SA. I too would be wary of guns that you have to pull the trigger to decock. Similarly to pulling a trigger to dis-assemble like the aforementioned Glock Walther has a history of making fantastic arms so I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
Ever see the youtube video of the DEA Agent? "I am the only one in this room qualified to carry a gun", then he shot himself by accident in a class room......
