Not sure what part of town your in, but The arms room off 45south is a good place to rent and try pistols.

That said, they are not the cheapest when you get ready to purchase.

I'm off 290 in cypress. I was at gander mountain today looking at 1911s and glocks. Those are a nice shiny penny!

What are you wanting to try out? I've got a wide range of handguns and always looking for an excuse to go shooting. :D

Anything really in terms of conceal carry. Even if its on the large side for concealing. My dad has a pair of S&W bodyguard I think that is a 380 and I do not like that one. It's narrow short and feels like I am not able to grip it well. I have shot an XDm and found it to be very comfortable and a nice solid weight. I went and held some today at gander mountain. 1911, glock 23?, desert eagle, biggest wildest looking revolver,

(Was not finished and the phone ninja'ed. Out of my hand) ... The judge. IMO glock feels super light and a bit square. I really like the 1911 that I looked at but I don't remember who was the maker. My sister just told me that in college station, champion firearms will allow me to test different models. So since ill Benin college station for the next 3 days, I'm going to go check them out.

If you like the XDm's you may want to check out the XDs. I have the .45acp and carry it every day. I absolutely love it. They just came out with a 9mm version if you like that caliber. Since you like 1911's you may also check out the Colt New Agent. I carry that as well. Not as much since getting the XDs but ill throw it on my hip every once in awhile for something different. I also have a S&W M&P 360 .357 mag. That little thing is brutal to shoot but its great if you want something small and light.

I would recommend trying out a smith and wesson m&p shield. They come in both 9mm and 40. Both the shield and the XDs are pretty impossible to find. We should all head out to the range one day.

I want to try a Wilson Combat. You have one of those?

No I sure don't. I typically stick to Colt or Springfield Armory for my 1911's. although I do want a Dan Wesson Valor soon.

Here's the one I was checking out at the NRA convention

Looks good. I don't know why I have been putting off getting a 1911 for so long. Been putting off CHL too. Need to fix both of those.

I believe it's a requirement more than it is a right. So go get your CHL!

So tested out a 1911, glock, XD, and a ruger revolver. The 1911 felt the smoothest and most comfortable.

Dan Wesson makes some awesome custom 1911's. everyone should own a full size 1911 for sure. Love them! I need to renew my CHL soon.

Nice. I have found I carry a pocket gun more than anything. Never have been able to force myself into a routine of putting on a holster. I have resigned myself to the fact that I am better off having a small gun that is difficult to shoot than nothing at all.
