I don't know if anyone has it yet. I think the first online stores received theirs last week.

The discounted pricing is no longer valid. Several places list them as in stock now.

Will do, but I won't get it til next week. TBaquatics sent me an e-mail saying they are on a company vacation this week and will resume shipping on saturday.

I like the alk one so far. The liquid reagent is great, a lot faster than my salifert test.

I got confirmation of shipment of mine today. Should have it by Friday. Since I've never done a Ca test, what are critiques based on?

Should I do a test with a different brand?

Sorry I haven't updated , I got my test thursday and finally got a chance to try it out tonight.

The test itself was fairly simple, but I am a little concerned about it's results.

I've been using a salifert Ca test, which is widely accepted as being accurate. Here are my results:

Salifert Ca: 460ppm
Hanna Ca #1: 585ppm
Hanna Ca #2: 565ppm

Now I'm wondering which is accurate as this is a fairly large variance. I follow the Hanna test exactly with RODI and it's tips for accuracy as well. Anyone else got any results yet?

I did a test with the Hanna yesterday. I got 457ppm. Unfortunately, I don't have any baseline. Does anyone have a Salifert test I can have for a comparison test?

I do, but am in league city. They test about the same. I got 471 on my Calcium which is close to what salifert tells me. Whats you alk and ph at. They all kinda run hand in hand. Do you also know your mag?

My brother used his Hanna checker for the first time tonight. It registers higher than the salifert just like dustinb did.

Hanna Ca...529
Salifert Ca...450

So there appears to be a trend here. Anyone find an official review yet?

My CA came out different too

Elos: 470
Hanna: 499

Per Hanna, the purity of your RO/DI or DI water can make a huge difference in results. Hanna is now suggesting lab grade DI water (which they sell - or you can find at some pharmacies) for your sample even if your RO/DI water is reading 0 on the TDS meter. Evidently even if you're zero'd on TDS there can still be enough minerals to adversely effect the results. Also, if your SW sample is even a fraction over the .01 required your test will be skewed due to the dilution ratio (9:1). A lot of people have found using U-100 insulin syringes more effective at delivering the correct amount of SW for the sample.
