Which pest do harlequin shrimp eat again? I can’t remember which one.

They eat starfish exclusively. Specifically, they need to consume the tube feet. Their diet in captivity is usually asternia starfish but if those are not available (i.e. once the shrimp has eaten them all), they can be given a chocolate chip or other larger starfish. They do not eat serpent or brittle stars.

Everyone is spot on about the Harlequin. People mostly get them for asternia control as far as pest control goes and must be fed other starfish after their job is done.

*Their nutritional requirements include the tube feet but they do consume the entire starfish.
