I'm new to the hobby, and I'm trying to get a bio pellet reactor but don't know much about them....... First, what is bio pellet reactor for? Second, does it remove phosphates? And last, how long do you run it for?

What do you hope to get out of a biopellet reactor?
I had a terrible experience with biopellets when they first came out.

Me too, worst tank crash I have ever experienced was with bio pellets. I actually used less than instructions said.

That's why I'm running a ZEOvit reactor.

I run NP bio pellets in a Two Little fishies reactor, and another TLF with carbon(small models). Been using pellets for 3 years, best media supplement I have added so far. Run this on a 200 gallon mixed reef, moderately stocked. Keep it moving, replace when it's almost gone, It has worked well for me. Buying some new pellets right now.

I use 1/2 of recommended amount, tumble very slowly and hook it up to the skimmers water intake. It helps. I see algae start dying. Nitrate sponge works very well too. It would keep nitrate 0 in 2 months.
