I noticed yesterday my Dog Face puffer was hiding in the rocks and was panting which is not normal. This morning he looked ok but this afternoon when I got home he was back in the rocks hiding and panting. Now he has lots of small white spots over his body (looks like over spray from a paint gun), his eye has white spots on it and now my Blue Tang has light blue spots on him and a puffy eye.

2 month old tank, 90 gallons, Hammer and candy cane coral, 3" Sand and 70lb rock.

Is this ICH and what is the BEST way to treat this?

I have fresh RO/DI & Saltwater standing by along with a 30gal tank for QT if needed.

Ammonia - 0
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 30
Calcium - 410
ph - 8.18
ORP - 424
Temp - 77 - 78

Sounds like Ich to me except for the puffy eye I have never had that issue when i've had ich in the tank. I fight it with a cleaner shrimp since the initial outbreak it has come back once but it was very minimal. I believe my shrimp is 100% responsible my fixing it. Good luck

So after the loss of my Dog Face puffer and a bunch of research I have almost eradicated :target:the parasite. I was recommended to user QuICK Cure by AP dosing half the recommended dose but the half dose had little impact on the parasite. I ended up dosing half the recommended dose twice a day and with in 48 hours almost all the white spots were gone off the fish. I had 2x clowns, 1x Trigger, 1x Foxface, 1x Dog Face Puffer and the fish that brought in the parasite the Blue Tang. The Hammer and frogspawn coral didn't seem to be affected by the QuICK Cure. It was a must to find a non copper solution to kill the awful bug. Seeing at the 90 Gallon display tank was infected and the parasite could be in the sand removing the fish and treating was not an option since I don't have room for all the fish in a temporary tank.

I will post again in the next couple of days with a status update.

I went through a couple on the sticky links followed up by the googles. I noticed a bunch about hypo treatments, copper treatments, non copper treatments, freshwater dips and ways to reduce stress level. I have to do more reading on the freshwater dip for two reasons, 1 being the fish I think started this was dipped by the LFS (if done correctly) and 2 does freshwater dip work as good as mentioned. Either way removing all the fish to treat for 30 days while the lack of fish / food kills the parasite in the tank wasn't an option.
