My tap water tests between 450-550 ppm TDS. An RO/DI system was one of the better investments I've made in my reef. In fact, we got a drinking water kit for it too and it tastes so much better.

What area do you live at? What is the TDS level from your RO/DI unit?

I live near the intersection of 290 & Beltway 8. We're not actually on City of Houston water, we're in a MUD (which is an appropriate name, considering the water quality :D ).

My output from the RO (for drinking) is around 20-30 ppm, and the output from the DI is 0 to however far you want to push your luck. I've made a few hundred gallons of water with this current DI cartridge and it's reading 1 ppm now. I have a couple of replacements, I'm just deciding how far I want to push it before replacing the cartridges. I read that some people will go up to around 5 ppm or so before replacing their DI. I may cut it off at 2-3 just to be safe.
