i put a peppermint shrimp into my nano when I first started the tank. I have zero aptasia since(it's been up for ~6 months).

If you want to try to eliminate them by hand, a nice container of lemon juice and a needle will work nicely. In a demented kind of way, it is fun to watch them melt. Die you bastages!! DIE!! DIE!! DIE!!

The only 100% surefire way are those nudibraches that feed exclusively on aptaisia, but you need a lot of them to keep it under control, and when it's all gone, they die (or you pass them on to another reefer). They are hard to come by, and aren't cheap either.

Galveston peppermint shrimp sure cleaned up the aiptasia in my tank. They've also grown to be pretty large and are a deep red now, like the Caribbean peps.

I've done the lemon/lime juice method. I found that using the syringe with plain boiling R/O water works about the same way. Using a larger bore syringe you can make a kalk-paste to squirt them with as well.

I do believe that Copperbands have an appetite for aptasia as well.

Galveston Peps did mine in too. After that, my dwarf moray ate the peps...:) It's been about a year and I can just now see a few sprouting back out. The shrimp can't get 100% all of them because some small ones are back in nooks and crannies. That' goes for any method though.

Cheers
James
