is there ever a sale on membership cost? do they discuss the accounting at board meetings? if I pay to be a member, I'd be curious to know where the money goes. Little disappointing that its required to be a paid member, I use to be on this site from about 2001-2006 and don't ever remember having to be a paid member to post on that non-member WTS/WTT forum.
Please let me know.

Thanks.

The MARSH Board of Directors changed the rules for the "For Sale" forum a while back allowing only members to post in that forum.

I am a board member and I agree with you regarding posting a financial breakdown of where the money goes too. I am hoping this gets done in 2015, maybe shortly after we have completed Reef Currents 2015.

I don't have a $ breakdown (maybe our treasurer can generate that in the near future).

All of the moneys that are collected go to website hosting, paying for MARSH events, postage, member ID cards, card printer (currently needs a new print head) and reef currents.

The BOD and Officers receive no remuneration for any of our time (and we put in a lot). If we buy things for an event those costs are reimbursed.

Actually that is not correct. The PAID members of MARSH and our Sponsors requested a vote on whether or not WTS/WTT should only be available for PAID members. The membership voted I think like 3:1 in favor of this measure. It was done to reduce the amount of people using MARSH as a glorified craigslist. We want members & guests to come and participate in our club events and on the MARSH website. We don't want folk to come create an account, sale some stuff and then disappear.
