Do to injuries and my work, I had to quit my builds. I am now back and getting ready to start again. My new work schedule allows me to work from home, in my own office. That said, I am going to start my 55 tube tank in my office. I visited 3 shops yesterday for parts and input and left even more confused than when I went in.
The first store wanted me to purchase $1300.00 worth of equipment. The second and 3rd stores suggested an Ehiem or Fluval and not a sump.
My tank is an Older Acrylic 55 TRUView tube tank. This tank is going to be a marine tank only. I would like suggestions or help setting this up. The last time it was up and running, I was using an under gravel filter and a Ehiem filter. I would like to have something more efficient and dependable. I have limited space in the stand and would like ideas.
My second tank is in my living room and is 230. It will be a reef. I believe I have everything I need for that minus the sand and live rock, but would like to have help setting it up. I will pay in Beer, BBQ, Jokes and even the old fashioned......., Cash for some help. I am in Greatwood (Sugar Land, TX). Since I now work from home, my time is flexible. Feel free to call me at (281)677-1849 or email me at hankintexas@hotmail.com

Thanks,

Hank

Hank, welcome back and I'm sure I can make some time off for you.
I think a closed loop will be the best on the marine only.
You still can use your old canister filter, just need to adjust the plumbing a bit.
