on the 660 if you have 4 bulbs can run them in a dusk/dawn type of mode? like 2 whites at one time 2 actinics at another. or do all have be ran at same time.

All at the same time. You can however get a dimmer for them (special dimmer only) that can slowly turn them on /off. Otherwise it would require 2 ballasts.

i had asked someone why you would use a dimmer and thats what they said. dah 8)

icecap makes a dimmer for that ballast. not sure if any other brand of dimmer would work.

The ballast has to be modified by IceCap first before it can be dimmed. I think they do that for free but I'm not sure.
