The membership dues are unfair and here is what I propose.
Tanks
40 gallons and under- Free membership
41-99 gallons- $.25 per gallon per year
100-149 gallons-$.35 per gallon per year
150 gallons and above $.50 per gallon per year (plus an additional 10% big tank tax)
sumps, skimmers or anything with a liquid volume of over 1 gallon must added to your total volume (99 gallons and smaller tanks are exempted from this)
If you have multiple tanks your rate will be determined by:
1-Total gallons
2-Number of tanks
3-The value of your tanks if you could make one big tank out of them.
20% of the value of anything you sell must be donated to help people who cannot afford the high cost of tank care- (the 20% will be based on the value of the items sold not for what you actually sold it for)
You are allowed only so many of any type item- if you have 10 fish you must give 2 of them to one of the people who can't afford them- you must also provide care for them(including but not limited to food, salt rodi water etc.) This applies to any living thing in your tank and the person receiving the items get to choose which ones they want. (100 gallons and above only)
There would also be additional penalties for people who do not use energy efficient lights, pumps, chillers ect.
(99 gallons and below are exempt and any electrical costs associated with running a tank will be billed to the 150 gallon and above group)
If you have an rodi system you must provide water to anyone who needs it, if they cannot afford or just don't want to drive to all the way to your house you must deliver it. (make sure your filters are in good condition, any water that is not 100% pure cannot be given away without harsh penalties) (100 gallons and above)
You are required to provide the brand of salt that the person receiving the water requests. (150 gallons and above)
Chemicals and test kits will also be provided by the 150 gallon and above group. Also, you must dose and test the water according to the schedule requested by the person receiving the goods.
If you have more tanks than you need they will be given to someone who cannot afford a tank. You will also be required to set up and maintain this tank.(includes stand, lights, pumps, fish, coral and anything else the person wants)
If anything dies in these tanks you are required to replace it or pay for the replacement value (owners option) of that item to the owner of the tank because it is your fault that something happened. (Also applies to all accessories) (150 gallons and above)
Any property damage caused by leaking tanks will be repaired by the 150 and above group. The person receiving the repairs may choose any material they like. (everyone needs and deserves granite)
All of the above is subject to CHANGE at anytime, personally I think the 150 and above people have had it too easy for too long.
