a recap- I'm not sure this meeting is explainable in a short form.
essentially eric B and eric K presented their hypotheiss and plan for conducting a salt study. This salt study will be different than others (i.e., lets analysize different salts for their compostion), in that their biological endpoints will be what matters to the hobbyist. Growth of coral frags, reproduction of inverts and effects on biomass of living organisms (mainly fish). So in essence they are going to fill up identical tanks w/ water containing different salt mixes, treat them the same (w/ the only difference being the salt mix) and see what happens monthly, over a 8 month period. The thought being that a "better' salt mix will provide essential contributions towards surivial, growth and happiness to the critters.
Of course this is a 200 words description of a very well thought out experiment.

I thought it was a 10-month period?

Hopefully Eric will submit his powerpoint presentation to Sherri so we can post it in a Forum that she will be creating for this project. This will allow him to recruit help and donations of sorts.

I was checking out Envision Acrylics page this weekend, and they mentioned the Inland Reef salt study is starting up, and that they had donated the tank for it. Is this the one that James was talking about, that they paid the money for over a year ago and nothing had been done?

Anyway, check out the last couple paragraphs at the bottom of this page (under "Aquarium News"):
