I was reading some reviews on Amazon of Koralia and there were 2 people (out of 3) that mentioned the powerhead running backwards.

I have had this issue several times on mine and I simply reverse the plug to get it going correctly. Does anyone know why this happens and whether there is a more permanent remedy for it?

Mine do it from time to time, when I unplug them they give me problems trying to get them started. I have to plug and unplug a few times to get them going. May be too much coraline algae on them, just took one out and scrapped it clean (30+minutes) still have one other one I need to do.

Ok sorry. If its the older Korallia line then I don't think that there is anything you can do other than trying to clean it. They weren't really designed to run on wave timers

Yea, that's what gets me. I don't even know what a wave timer is so I'm definitely not running one. My powerhead is plugged directly into the power strip running on its own. Just occasionally, it will stop and run backwards until I unplug it and plug it back in reverse which fixes the issue.

Taking one out and letting it run in bucket of water with Vinegar in it cleans it better. I actually had some I got with a used tank that did not work start running after doing that.

Question about the vinegar...Do I just rinse off the item after taking it out of the vinegar or do i need to clean the vinegar off some other way?

Just rinse it. I buy gallons of the stuff an put it in a bucket and let things soak. Just rinse them off when you are done.

I usually soak my evo's and mp10 wet side a couple of hours about every 90 days. When I take them out I scrub the parts with a tooth brush, let them soak a little more and then but them in a bucket of freshwater. Take them out, dry them and put them back into the tank.
