So does anyone have a special policy that covers your tank, it's contents or the damage it would cause if it busted? Does your current homeowners policy cover it and if so whats parts of that do they cover?

My homeowners will only cover the tank itself if its destroyed like in a fire or storm but wont cover the livestock (pets) inside. If it fails or just breaks they wont cover it at all or the ensuing water damage (they consider that sewage water).

I was hoping to find a policy that would cover things like glass breakage, power failure, water leakage and loss of livestock.

I have also wondered about tank insurance. I’m a renter so I’m not too worried about loss of livestock, but damage to property should a catastrophic failure occur.

When I last pressed state farm on the issue with my renters policy, they said property damages would only be covered if I was negligent or something. Which I took that to mean “if it breaks, you ain’t covered”

Supposedly some insurance places can do a rider on that sort of thing.
