Since I've been out of the hobb for several years I was wondering if I could get some recommendations on a local fish store where I can get some Live rock and sand today??

Are you looking for anything in particular? Like figi or tonga?? City pets has the biggest "in stock" rock curing bins and the rock gets cheaper the more you buy.
You being on the northside though means FJW and All About Fish are the two closest to you, I must admit, I don't know what their prices are or what they carry, I'm sure somebody can chip in with those details though

Thanks so much for the input. I ended up going to Fish Gallery and paid 6.99 lb. Wasn't very pleased with one of the guys I dealt with he was kinda rude but everyone else was great! I had to go to Petco and buy sand cause they didn't have enough at Fish Gallery and I wasn't sure where the next closest place was. So I got the same brand that the they had at Fish Gallery. I will create a new post now about how things are looking

I went in today and the owner said for the President to contact him and he'd be more than happy to talk to him/her.

FJW and 3CC are definitely worth a stop. City Pets is cool too and David and Donnie take care of you once they get to know you, but they're always getting slammed in there. 3CC I think has the best rock selection in town though.
