I recently moved to the North Side of Houston (The Woodlands/Conroe) and have not visited any LFS since i've been here  . Anyone want to recommend a good one that is near-by? [/list]

Welcome fellow Conroe person :)
The only one we have that sells salt water is Fis R Us. They are really a large freashwater store that have recently gotten into saltwater.
Take 242 and go East and its a couple miles down on the left.

Where you live at in Conroe?

B&B on 1960 always has different inverts than most everyone else. The prices are competitive. The guy that runs the place will tell you everything eats brine, including mandarins, but has warned me away from a couple fish that I know would eat polyps. Not a bad place if you do your own homework. Then you can go a little further to Jones rd and hit aquatic world.

Either of those (B&B or Aquatic World) are a long haul from Conroe. Going down 1960 from 45 like that is the crawl of death - about a billion lights and tons of traffic.

Actually, I bet you could hit all the stores off the tollway (Global, City Pets, etc.) just as quickly as you could the ones on 1960 because of the traffic.

B & B is a very good store and the guy that runs it, Sak, is very honest. He doesn't always have a huge selection, but he always has the standards and some nice hard to finds mixed in... What I appreciate about him is he will not sell a fish if is not healthy; also, if he knows what other fish you have and the one you are interested in is not compatable, he will not sell it to you. He also recommends more than just brine as far a food goes. If you talk to him about food, he usually recommends brine, omega flakes or pellets, and to go to the grocery store and buy shrimp and fish and blend it up. He recommends brine because he feels it keeps fish interested in eating. Also, his prices are very good and consistant for both livestock and drygoods. He also has great prices on tanks.

Just my two cents worth, he's always done right by me and my friends.
