I have a colt 1911 aluminum frame and one of the grip bushings are stuck. Vice grips are out of the question. Dont want to spend 100 bucks...gasp, or wait three weeks. First the bushing stripped with brownells grip bushing tool. Got three out but this last one on the top right has given me trouble. Saw it was pinned in. So took my dremel and carefully unpinned it, which I have done several times before. Tired the vice grips, nope. Applied heat with soldering iron, nothing. I'm stumped. I've done most of the work on my 1911. Including grip saftey, dehorn and minor repairs on other 1911s. I know the ins and outs of my gun.
Any ideas? Id rather bring it in....go grab lunch and pick it back up. Its a bare frame and gonna get cerakoted. So there's nothing on it.
TLDR: 1911 grip bushing stuck, need a smith to get it out and possibly refinish it.
