Whew - what a week.

I picked up another 80+ pounds of live rock covered in purple coralline algae. Mushrooms from the first live rock purchase seem to be happy campers. Hair algae is growing, so I picked up a One Spot Foxface ( 4 inches) and Blue Tang ( 2 1/2 inches). The Foxface hide for about an hour, but has come out and is nipping at the algae. The Blue tang is swimming all over the tank and nipping at algae also, so far everyone seems happy.

The ATB 840 V1.5 Skimmer is in a make shift 30 gallon sump and making lite tea color skimmate.

The 120 gallon RR from Glasscages came in today also. Meet the truck at the Flying J (145 and Richey Rd). From what I can tell it is a nice tank, but it is still sitting in the back of my wife's SUV. I have to wait until Tuesday before I will have some help getting it out of the truck.

I have a couple of brown Zoanthus colonies - two of the colonies cover about 2 sq inches. the 3rd colony is a single loan polyp, but unlike the others - this little guy is a nice orange.

I also have a few very bright yellow sponges.

The Black Barred Convict Goby is eating well, but really is a shy little fish. I use a turkey baster to get food to him to make sure he eats. Fast little fish, but prefers to live under the rocks.

The Yellowtail Damsels are very territorial. One little guy is getting nipped on quite a bit. They settled down quite a bit when the Tang and Foxface entered the tank. I hope the addition helps with the hair algae and breaks up the territories two of the Damsels seem to have created for themselves.

Water still is testing all zeros. need to take my water into a store and have it tested just to make sure my kit is telling me the truth. The bioload has been some what light until today, so may with the Tang and Foxface - chemistry changes. I'm feel very lucky to have been able to buy such wonder pieces of live rock.

Went down to Galveston to try my hand at netting some Peppermint Shrimp. Right location (Rain Forest Cafe), but either it is the wrong season, the waves where to high, or I have no clue what I'm doing. Maybe the next group trip down - I will tag along to get some pointers.

I'm talking to a Marsh member about building me a stand and canopy. I just have to much going on to do it and I really don't have enough experience to make it look nice.

I think that is about it for now. I hope to have pictures soon.

Wow it has been a really long time since my last post.

Updates:

The 75 gallon is running along fine. From time to time I have had bouts of Red Slime Algae (Cyanobacteria), but water changes and reducing feeding and lighting seem to keep it under control.

We decided that putting the 120 on carpet was a bad idea, so for the last 6 weekends I have tiled the living room.

I'm building a Plexiglas sump - should be finished over the Thanksgiving weekend.

I hope to get one of my strong nephews over to help lift the 120 onto the stand after the food comma goes away.

My To Do List - water test the tank, water test my DIY sump, install T5s in the hood, shim and level the tank and fill with sand bed and saltwater and start the cycle, still need to buy some more rock and plumbing parts.
