You upgraded from a 4790k to what?Nope, I never get what it's supposed to get. \
I just upgraded from a Devil's Canyon 4790k in June. Such a waste of money, almost no performance gain.
R9 3900 (above).You upgraded from a 4790k to what?
There is a definite speed boost from upgrading the standard SSD to the M2 SSD.
I was getting about 500mbps using the standard SSD. Almost a 3x speed gain, not too shabby.
I think I probably need to upgrade my mobo to get near the advertised speeds.
Yikes I would be disappointed too.R9 3900 (above).
Spent like $700 (becuase you need new mem too) and got maybe 10% performance increase.
My mobo was going out on my old CPU that's the only reason I upgraded. I didn't want to spend $100 on a new mobo for an old system.Yikes I would be disappointed too.
Your Evo has mine beaten by a small amount. I almost bought the Evo, but there is a flash sale on the crucial P5.
PS want to swap video cards?
Yes it's a NVMe driveDid you get an nvme ssd or just an m.2? Nvme uses pcie lanes to communicate while m.2 uses the same as a standard sata ssd. They both go in the same slot but there's a big speed difference from what I've seen.
My current mobo is a ASUS TUF X570 varient.@Tenny , @TriggerFan , @DwPolcyn
What mobo models you guys running? Almost positive that is my bottleneck since the release date was 2016.
In that case I'm not sure. I get 5GB read and 4GB write on crystaldiskmark. I doubt it's really a noticeable difference in user experience though. I have an x570 mobo and ryzen 3600 as well. If you really need more performance you can look at pcie4 drives. That's what I'm using and may account for the difference in speeds between us. My only other suggestion would be to look around in the BIOS and make sure there isn't anything on the wrong setting in there.Yes it's a NVMe drive
Asus Maximus Hero X. I got lucky in the silicone lottery and am able to keep a stable overclock on all 6 cores at 5.2GHz@Tenny , @TriggerFan , @DwPolcyn

I'm on an older motherboard and a 1150 socket, age of equipment is definitely my issue. In that case I'm not sure. I get 5GB read and 4GB write on crystaldiskmark.
