Got about 15 margarita Snails and they are dropping really fast. Not sure if they are just falling and landing upside down getting cleaned out by the hermits and Bistles. Or are they just dying. Not Dosing anything.

I have a very small Hermit that stole one of the shells and looks really funny, but it loves it's huge shell. LOL

I'm not testing, thats why I stopped dosing it. But I was daily dosing 8 drops with no problems, once a week shouldn't hurt. Around now the temp is cooler, cooler than I want it since my second heater crapped out on me again. 76degrees

copied from site above:

coupled with the fact that no commonly kept reef aquarium species are known to require significant iodine, suggests that dosing is unnecessary and problematic.

For these reasons, I advise aquarists to NOT try to maintain a specific iodine concentration using supplementation and test kits.

Margaritas are snails that live in cooler water than our reefs. I have never had or seen success with these longer than a few months. It's the wrong snail for the purpose. Sucks because I like the way they look.
