Good morning
Have 14g biocube w/ limited fish ( maroon clown& 2x gobies),
cuc & coral. Maroon clown has decided to host large candycane that is my centerpiece. Since not the normal host for clown fish, will all the attention harm the candycane?

It's gonna likely irritate the coral at the very least. Without an anemone, it'll find something as its host.

Not against getting anemone except for size of tank & only moderate lighting. Is there options who's size won't over take tank.

Not really. Practically any nem for that size tank is gonna dominate it eventually. To top that, those Maroon's get BIG and NASTY. You might want to cut your losses and trade him in now for something a little smaller. Something like the percs.

Thanks for the info. Will look at different clown
Bigger tank(40L) & great lights purchased but this was 1st salt(have 300g planted fresh) so was trying patience. Lol
Really love this candycane (30+ heads) will watch clown closely.
Seems to be directing most attention between the stalks rather than top. Clown still small/ coral huge!
Guess this is incentive to start setup & aging new tank. Dang think my husband's gonna notice

As long as it's hanging out in the stalks and not disturbing the fleshy portion of the coral, then don't worry about it. Just keep an eye on it.

Ok. He's 2" long so not tall yet so action is directed at stalks. Will keep close check if it changes
