I was wondering how much a difference a good mh reflector vs a cheap mh reflector does for illumination. i've read an article about comparisons between optix, pfo and some others but i want to know if anyone has had experience with this.

Reason I ask is because i purchased from someone a dual mh retro kit with a super cheapy reflector(which I did not know about until it arrived). I was wondering if I should replace them.

Who knew bent alluminum would cost so much :)

The reflector can make a huge difference. You're paying for all that light, so you want to make sure you get as much of it as possible into your tank!

Good reflectors don't have to be pricey. You won't find a much better value than these reflectors:

Considering the socket alone costs $20, you are getting the bent aluminum for $10. :D

i would look a little harder than that reflector.I made the mistake of using those and they waste alot of light.Dont go cheap on your reflector.I would suggest reading what Sanjay joshi wrote about reflectors.Run his name through a search engine. The fully enclosed reflectors are the best. :D
