What size tank would be maximum for this vortech

Would it work well in a 58 gallon softie tank.

I have two small koralias and tank is doing well I'm sure 1 of these would replace two koralias

i have the same dims. been experimenting with MP-10's and 20's.

2 will get you by fine, opposite end of the tank.

1 wont be as effective, but if its a softie tank you might get away with it.

i added a mp-20 to the mx in my tank, and have to say, it flows nice, broadly and softly.

the MP-10's dont seem to have a problem keeping up. they pack quite a punch.

Just to add to the MP10's rep...

I have one and it has done its thing without issue for a year and a half in my 34 gallon hex. Then, my siphon gave up on my bean overflow and my coast to coast overflow filled up. No big deal, as I have a dedicated tank overflow that sprung into action. Well, it had a drip..drip...drip leak from an unglued PVC joint (don't ask.) Unfortunately, this was when I was on vacation and the drip was right onto my MP10's controller box. It got fried.

Anyways, I called ecotech marine and their guy directed me to their parts page and showed me their upgrade controllers. They have engineered them so that they could upgrade/update the electronics, and the wet side and dry side of the motors was still totally compatible. The plug was the same and it was really easy to change over.

I was really impressed with their foresight in design and the quality of their product.

not to mention that done my independant review an mp10 es actually flows almost 2500gph even though they only are "rated" to push around 1500gph.. you're getting one heck of a bang for your buck if you ask me. i'm getting 1 more for my 40br i like lots of flow though.

I have one on my redseamax 34g, that I bought from another board website used. Only problem that I had was the dry side bearing went out- rather than spend 105.00 for a replacement dry side- I opted to replace the bearings myself- installed a high quality set of ceramic bearings and been running like a champ ever since.
