As some of you may know, I purchased a couple of these awhile back. I already sold one of them because it was just too loud. I'm running an MP40 and an MP60 in my tank now. It is loud, but there are pros and cons to this configuration.
Pros:
The MP60 is enough flow for my 5 foot tank. It alone can sustain SPS, in my opinion.
I haven't really utilized the modes for all they are worth. I really don't care to, to be honest. I like Reefcrest mode and constant flow, mostly.
The flow is very wide, and the undertow is really unmatched by all power heads I've used.
The vents on the "dry side" are a nice feature. If you know electronics, you know that stuff like this really needs ventilation, or some type of cooling. Lack of it causes premature failure.
Very solid unit. Build quality is similar to an MP10 on steroids.
Cons:
Price.
Noisy.
If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have gone with MP60's. They will be nice when I upgrade though. Of course, I don't plan on doing that until I can build a fish room to help dampen the noise, but I digress...
