I was curious about this one.. as there is another one listed on ReeferMadness but it has longer branch's. Do these humilis grow out long branch's like the second one. The first pic is the one I purchased. The second is the longer branch one. Does anyone own one?

With the exception of acropora millepora, acropora humilis is a very common species of acropora that is imported. The difference here that I see is the first pic is a full colony while the second looks like it may have been broken and started to regrow in the wild. Like if the colony was broken by waves or however and started regrowing itself. They will grow out longer type branches but will never grow like a staghorn acropora. The branches will always stay or keep this type of "pillow" branch as Tyree calls them.

Check out Deuk's 180g sps tank on www.exoticreefs.us/ under profiles to see some other color morphs of A. humilis. I have about 4 frags now of varying color morphs of A. humilis.

That isn't bleaching inbetween some of these branches is it?? I see about a half dozen spots that look bleached on branches and in the center of this acropora.

Sue, yea that does sound like a more logical reason. I just thought it was odd being shaped that way. SPStoner on RC bought that one.. so I will keep an eye on it to see how it will shape up in after a while (maybe yrs)
