Some of you may have seen these over on nano-reef.com, but I wanted to share here as well. This is what I'll be filling my time with now that my 75 gal is in its new home.
Ok, here are my first tank photos - a couple of the tank and some with the rockwork.
I tried to go with kind of a long tunnel look (kind of a cross between an atol and a cave) - let me know what you think.
The first one here, is not an acurate represntation of color, but I just wanted to show some scale:
This second one is more accurate on the color (3x18w pc's, a 50/50, a 7500k, and an actinic):
Here is a closer look at the rockscaping:
A view from above (pretty good water movement can be seen - using the mini-jet 606):
And the sump... I plan on cutting the sponge in half, moving half the rubble into the first compartment and adding some chaeto to the middle area when I decide how I want to light it (maybe with a submersible light):
BTW, that is my VERY gheto attempt at a diy cassette style skimmer (just bought the dremel yesterday ) I'm planning on buying one of the more professionally machined skimmers like This One
The little red splotch you see in the skimmer is some homemade fish food I had in the freezer so I just tossed a little piece in to help the cycle along.
Comments welcome!
