Well I as most know my buying a tank is lot like others. I started by dreaming big, then life happens, wakes you up a little, but not enough so you settle for a smaller tank, which still cost you a lot.
I wanted (and still do) a 120 acrylic SPS tank. I settled for a nano (even if it is the largest allowed to be called nano), 29 gal. So after a lot of work (as you all know) I have my tank up and my lights on.
We ordered the lights, and got a hood built by a local guy that did a wonderful job. My light setup is 150W HQI MH and a 24" VHO URI Super Actinic.
I have a Red Sea Prizm Skimmer with an overflow attachment, and a modified TetraTec AQ500 for a HOB Refugium, with 2 MaxiJet Powerheads 900s.
36 pounds of LR mix of Tonga and Figi with the expectation of getting somemore when they are attached to corals.
As I get better at taking pictures I might have some to show. But right now this my tank.
Just wanted to share.
Kenny the frogspawn is doing great.
Reefalot the xenia is now pulsing, so the lights must have been what was missing.
So far (fingers crossed) we haven't lost anything in our tank.
