I am wanting to buy a small tank for my office around 10 gallons. I would like to get one that already has a protein skimmer and lighting good enough to keep softies and some hardy LPS. What is the best system to buy that you have to make few if any modifications to?
Thanks,
Thresa

The JBJ Nanos are good, they are self-contained. I don't know if you would need to make mods to the lighting to keep sps though?

You can keep softies and some hardy LPS in a 12g nanocube dx. There are better systems available but not in the same price range. If money is not an issue I would look at the CPR systems. About twice the price though.

Thanks for the advice. I've looked up the 12 gallon nano cube dx and it says that it has a 3 stage filtration system including surface skimming.

Does this mean that it comes with a protein skimmer?

Do most people run a skimmer on a tank that small?

That just pulls the water off the top surface of the tank into the back chambers. Nano sells a protein skimmer that fits in that chamber.

Check out http://nanocustoms.com for more of a customized nano tank.
