New 90 gallon build up (1 Viewer)

I decided to upgrade my little reef from a 20 gallon to a 90 gallon. Here are some pics of it now....and how i put up my light instead of hanging it.

Nice. I also prefer mounted lights to hanging lights. With no metal halides, I belive you can lower the lights significantly? Or are you going for an open-top look?

in those pics i only have the t-5 turn on. I have 2 14k MH on there also. i will probally over the front because the light is blinding everyone in the house.

I can say that from my point of view, it doesn't look like there's enough flow in this setup for you to keep sps.

What kind of sump are you running and is there a refugium?

I agree that right now it would not work for SPS but it looks like you are far from done so I didn't comment on that.

A few Tunze's here and there should fix the problem.

lol ofcourse i am not ready yet...im still waiting for my fuge to come in. It is a 36in long 18in wide and 20in tall. I will have a magdrive 1200 for return pump and hopfully connect it to my jbj 1/4 chiller and T it off with a scwd. I will also run a asm skimmer. Would that and two koralia 4s be good? or should i go with a tunze??

ok so i went with the 2 koralia 4s....i dont think its strong enough so im going to do my return pump as a mag drive 1800

how many watts are the MHs? I'm just wondering why they need to be so high up off the tank, other than heat, obviously.

Use the sureflow impeller in the K4.....it will be a big difference!

i just threw a maxi jet 1200 and its a lot better.....so 2 maxi jet 1200 on the sides and 1 koralia 4 in the middle of the tank..and mag 1200 or 1800 for return...good enough?

The impeller from the sure-flo/eco-mod will work in the Koralia4 and it will give them much more output.

You work at CP right? They have both there and I am sure Donnie wouldn't mind you test fitting it. I tried doing it to the Koralia1 but it only works in the K4.
